We were joined by such a nice variety of volunteers! We had staff from 2 different John Dory’s stores (Walmer Park & Bay West), a couple of Girl Guides, some matrics doing community service hours, staff from Grinrod SMG, Ethan The Recycling Kid and quite a number of members of the public who either saw our posts or just saw us cleaning and asked to join!

The beach was quite clean when we arrived and yet we managed to fill 15 refuse bags (thanks Plastics|SA !!) with a total weight of 54 kilograms!!

Huge thank you to both John Dory’s stores for spoiling our volunteers with meal vouchers and there was nice refreshing water too!

We had a group of kids from Protea Children’s Home join us too. Sadly they only arrived when we were finished but no worries, we had a quick chat with the kids, gave them all gloves and bags and off they went! So thank you to them for coming out!

Thank you also to Bistro 6 on Shark Rock for the coffee after our cleanup!!
